u - Utricularia foliosa

   
This is an aquatic plant. It grow in swamps and other areas of calm waters :

U.foliosa is a free floating plant.
It grow together with other aquatic plants, but only on the borders of their colonies.
This plant need free waters, and no competition with other plants, due to it's size :
the flower is about 20cm over the water level, when the grasses in the swamps are 1.50m tall...
Traps are numerous. They are rather brown in color, going to black in some parts.
Only few flowers are developped by this plant.
Color of the flower is bright yellow, while the navel in the middle of it is of a luminous golden yellow :

The inflorescence will build about 10 to 12 flowers ; observe the seed pods :
