D. cayennensis Sagot msc. In shedis. - Caulis brevissimus. Folia rosulata
conferta solo adpressa; stipulae membranaceae rufae basi adnatae ceterum in fimbrias 
complures lanceolato-setaceas solutae 1,5-2 mm longae; petiolus planus sensim in laminam dilatatus circ. 4-6 mm longus; lamina obovata subtus glabra circ. 2,5-4 mm
longa, 3-4 mm lata. Pedunculi (scapiformes) 1-2 erecti parce glanduloso-pilosi 5-8 cm longi. Inflorescentia 2-4-flora; pedicelli brevissimi; sepala oblongo-ovata pilosa erosulo-dentata circ. 3 mm longa, 1,5 mm lata; petala 6 mm longa; filamenta lata; styli 3 a basi bipartiti cruribus integris apice paulum incrassatis 3-4 mm longis. Semina obovoidea, favosa. Tropisches Amerika: Cisäquatoriale Savannen-Provinz: Rio Negro bei Barra (Spruce!); Campo de Jananari (Spruce n. 1255!). - Guiana: bei Cayenne in der Savanne (Leprieur n. 145!); ebenort (Sagot n. 1228 – Original der Art!); bei S. Marca in der Savanne (Jelski!).

Leprieur says that he found the plant "near Cayenne, in the savana" , without further precisions.

Sagot described the type specimen of the species, wich was from the same origin ("Ebenort")
